Profile

Violeta is a graduate of International business (ASE) in Romania and has a Ph.D in Economics. She followed executive programs at Harvard Business School, post graduate training in Reading University and Durham Business School in the UK. She got LIMRA Leadership International Fellowship in 2001 (US). She has an extensive teaching experience at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest where she got the full professorship in 2009.

With almost 25 years of experience as a top executive in insurance industry in different countries across Europe and other geographies within ING Group and AXA Group, Violeta held top executive roles of different entities across Europe (CEO), as well as in regional and global roles.

She has been recognized as influencer in insurance industry and business overall in Romania – top 50 most influential Women Forbes Romania (2012 and 2013), top 100 most powerful women in business (2012), among others. A special award was offered by the Romanian Insurance Supervision Authority for the contribution for the development of the insurance industry in Romania.

Consulting activities

Violeta collaborated with universities and research institutes from Vienna, Athens, Albuquerque,  Reading, Tilburg, Atlanta. She had over 25 presentations in international fora and conferences in Romania, UK, The Netherlands, France, Greece, Belgium, South Korea, India, US and others, on macro economics, business, insurance and pensions, pension reforms, regulatory and compliance, customer research.

She is author/co-author of more than 10 business and insurance books and published about 300 articles in business and specialized insurance publications in Romania, Austria, Greece, The Netherlands, South Korea, UK, United States of America.
