Chairman of the Board of Directors at LIBRA BANK Executive MBA Alumni 2007

I found out from several alumni that the Executive MBA program is of the highest quality, with great emphasis on practical applications, debates and case studies, all study materials in English. It was convincing and came at the right moment in my life.

The desire to increase my professional performance was the reason I decided to enrol in an EMBA program. THE PROGRAM MADE ME THINK EVEN MORE FROM THE CLIENT PERSPECTIVE

At the time I enrolled in the program, I was 42 years old and I was Vice President at Libra Bank, coordinating sales development. The bank was just beginning to develop, under a new shareholder, and I was a newcomer with a huge workload. I could not decide whether to start the EMBA immediately or to postpone. But, luckily, the group of companies to which the bank belongs, New Century Holdings, an American shareholder, has launched in all of its companies in Romania an ample program, named “The Learning Company”. All managers were required to go through a program of this type. I immediately took the admission exams, passed them and started off.

ASEBUSS was ranked first among the programs in Romania and I think it remained in top business schools in Romania. For me, very important was the fact that it was built around an American syllabus, being in partnership with Kennesaw University in the United States. And, we all know, Americans are the best when it comes to universities and postgraduate programs.
This EMBA is something else; it is a long-term program (two years), with weekly courses, 10-15 subjects, concluded with an exam after each one, a final project, and an international project presented alongside other American students of the same promotion. It’s basically a second university program! Other business programs I graduated from were not as ample and complex as this EMBA. They probably have another goal, they are pursuing another purpose.

Any program is a workout with the goal of taking business to the next level. It is the same as the training program of a professional athlete. These programs can be seen as daily training, but the EMBA is the training camp where the qualitative jump can be done. This EMBA program made me think even more from the client’s perspective. It has helped me to think of a particular problem from several perspectives, in a very short period of time. If I previously looked at a deal from a bank employee’s point of view, now I can put myself very easily in the entrepreneur’s shoes. Now I allocate some of my thinking time for this purpose.

It has helped me to resume my systematic learning process, which I gained back in my faculty years. Even after graduation – and it’s been about 10 years since then – I’ve been left with the habit of learning, and it’s absolutely great.
I would recommend this EMBA to those who have reached a certain degree of maturity, gained in the business field. And also to those who have been given a leading position, at the companies they work for, for the first time in their lives. It also fits well with those who do not have a minimal financial-economic background, but are in a position that requires it. I would also recommend it to those who start fresh on the path of entrepreneurship.
