ASEBUSS alumni - class 2002
The majority of us strive to find success or at least to learn its true meaning throughout our entire life. From this perspective, we could easily say that Manuela Plapcianu, CEO at Artmark, is a successful leader. Some define success as the art of finding your true potential. Manuela defined this much coveted concept as “that place where we see ourselves as we really are, with our true potential, where we can afford the luxury of being ourselves on all accounts: emotionally, mentally, professionally, personally.”
Manuela Plapcianu held between 1996 and 2000 the position of Branch Manager at ABN AMRO Bank and afterwards, between 2000 and 2002 the position of Head of Network at CitiBank.
Having had what most would have considered a brilliant career up to that point, in 2002 Manuela took that extra step after graduating from ASEBUSS’ EMBA program she upgraded her profession to top executive positions in major banks at international levels; after 4 years of being Vice-President for HVB/ Unicredit, Mrs. Plapcianu became Deputy Chairman at the same company, and later on CEO for Bancpost/EFG Eurobank Romania.
With a degree in engineering, an established career in banking and, starting from September 2009, a new beginning into the art world, Manuela learned that “excellence conjugates itself in the same manner in all domains.” According to her, the two years of the ASEBUSS EMBA experience has gone a long way in teaching her this lesson.
At this point, her CEO position at Artmark shouldn’t come as such a big surprise, it all being in essence a natural progression in Manuela Plapcianu’s career that could simply be described as artfully successful.
